The Subaru Outback was already incredibly well equipped for adventure — and now it’s getting even better. For 2023, this widely beloved SUV wagon has been ungraded with an impressive list of features and design changes you’re sure to love.

On the outside, every 2023 Outback trim except for the Wilderness (which is already plenty bold) gets a strikingly rugged new front-end design with changes for the fascia, grille, LED headlights and fog lights, and front bumper cover. Meanwhile, the wheel arches boast a tougher look with expanded protective cladding.

To help you as you drive, the Outback’s EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology suite has been improved for the new model year. Updated software and an electric brake booster help this integrated system of safety features respond faster than ever to danger on the road. And on certain models, a new Automatic Emergency Steering feature integrates with the Pre-Collision Braking System to help prevent crashes.

The Outback’s available STARLINK 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus system has been upgraded for 2023 as well, boasting wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®, a new Valet Mode feature, and much more.

In other changes, the Outback’s Onyx Edition trim is now available with a more efficient 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER engine in addition to the more powerful 2.4-liter option that was offered for the previous model year. And at the top of the lineup, the Touring trim gets a new Wide-Angle Mono Camera with a broader field of vision that more effectively detects pedestrians and bicyclists.

The new 2023 Outback will be available soon, and you can learn more about it by contacting our team here at Gallatin Subaru in Bozeman, Montana.

“We are thrilled the Outback and all-new BRZ were 2022 top picks by the editors at Car and Driver,” said Thomas J. Doll, Subaru of America’s president and CEO. “Our mission as an automaker is to deliver vehicles that are built to the highest standards of safety, performance, and technology.”
Car and Driver’s editors noted that the Outback is an especially versatile pick in the Station Wagon category, delivering the smooth ride you expect from a car and the rugged capabilities you need from an outdoorsy SUV. The Outback also won acclaim for its generous standard STARLINK® and EyeSight® tech and safety features, its standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, and its 8.7 inches of ground clearance.
